Get A Library Card
Residents of Marathon, Biigtigong Nishnaabeg and Netmizaaggamig are eligible for a FREE library card. Use the form or visit the library to sign up for a library card.
*Non-residents can register for a library card for a fee of $25.
Borrowing Basics
Once you’ve registered and received a library card, you can immediately begin borrowing books and movies in-person from the library.
Books can be borrowed for up to 21 days before return or renewal.
Movies can be borrowed for up to 5 days before return or renewal.
Browse our entire library catalogue online, keep track of what you’ve read, and reserve items for in-person or curbside pickup.
To Get Started:
- Select the “Start Browsing” button below.
- Select “Log In” from the top menu bar.
- Enter your library card number and the default pin: “books”.
Fine Free
As of November 2022 our library has gone fine free!!
When you return a book late, you will not be charged.
You will not be able to check out any new items if you have overdue books.
If a book is not returned within 60 days you will be charged a replacement cost for the book.
Interlibrary Loans
Can’t find the book you’re looking for? Let us bring it in from another library for you! Inter-library loans are a free service to all library patrons. Fill out the form below to get started.
E-Library
Marathon Public Library card holders receive free access to several online resources where users can borrow e-books, audiobooks, magazines, TV shows, movies, and more!
To use Libby or Hoopla: sign up for a new account using your library card number. The default password (should you need one) is “books”
