Logo Design Contest 2021/22

WE NEED YOUR HELP!

We need your help to design a brand new logo for the library! As a community led organization, inclusion of the community in all that the Marathon Public Library does is essential to its success. Students and young people make up a significant proportion of regular library users. The library hopes to engage artistic students unique perspective and abilities help to develop a new logo for the library that represents who the Marathon Public Library is.

  • The contest is open to all high-school student and recent graduates from Marathon.
  • Entries are due by December 15th, 2021.
  • The winning artist will receive $100 in gift cards to local businesses.

COVID-19 UPDATE AS OF JULY 19, 2021

Marathon Public Library COVID-19 Update 

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

July 19, 2021 (MARATHON, ON)— On July 16, 2021, the province of Ontario had entered phase three (3) of the roadmap to reopening. As outlined in phase three (3), all public libraries are now permitted to increase their limited capacity. As per the guidelines enforced by the province of Ontario and the Thunder Bay District Health Unit (TBDHU), the library will be operating with a total of 20 persons permitted to enter the facility. This capacity limitation breaks down to a limit of four (4) persons for computer usage and five (5) persons for browsing/checkout. All previous precautions will remain in place at this time. We would like to remind our patrons that it is mandatory to wear a mask and sanitize when entering the facility. The Marathon Public Library would like to thank everyone for your continued support in our small-town public library.
